We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrochemical Engineer to join our innovative carbon-to-value startup. We are looking for highly collaborative individuals who want to apply their skills across the entire spectrum of design to bring an electrolyzer system to commercial readiness.
This role will include ideation, design, construction, and testing of novel electrolysis assemblies, along with accompanying analyses based on system performance. The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree (M.S./Ph.D.) in chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering, with four or more years of experience in electrolyzer/fuel cell systems. Experience in early-stage startups and expertise in electrode fabrication/modeling are highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with a team of scientists to develop and optimize single and multi-cell electrolyzer assemblies technologies.
Design, construct, and evaluate the performance of electrolyzer systems in the context of different industrial applications.
Summarize and communicate experimental results to an interdisciplinary team.
Perform techno-economic analyses to optimize cost-efficiency during prototype development.
Develop and implement safety protocols and operating procedures for chemical handling and hazard management.
Apply electroanalytical techniques such as impedance spectroscopy, voltammetry, accelerated aging studies, and electrodeposition of catalysts
Requirements:
Advanced degree (Ph.D./M.S.) in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
4+ years of experience with electrolyzer/fuel cell assemblies.
Direct experience in designing, building, or characterizing the performance of electrolyzer/fuel cell systems.
Ability to effectively convey complex scientific information and collaborate with scientific team members from different backgrounds.
Experience in developing safety protocols and operating procedures for chemical handling and hazard management.
Experience performing techno-economic analyses and identifying practical solutions for optimizing the performance of full-scale electrolyzer assemblies.
