This position is an individual contributor role who will lead certain EH&S programs to achieve EH&S objectives. Positions at this level are held by junior level individual contributors who plan and implement projects and programs where the complexity requires basic knowledge and scientific/technical specialization. This position is a professional who participates on high-caliber, multi-functional teams to address and provide solutions for EH&S issues, specifically focused on industrial hygiene, general occupational safety and management of change programs. Will partner with site customers to develop and implement strategic plans to ensure the attainment of the company's goals relative to environmental health and safety outcomes. This position must demonstrate a broad knowledge of local, state and federal laws and have the ability to work effectively with regulatory agencies.
This position will partner with company business partners in R&D and manufacturing to develop strategic plans related to exposure sampling, providing direct support to ongoing site expansion projects and continuing to craft an updated management of change process to ensure attainment of company's goals relative to EH&S outcomes. Will drive, support and report progress against these strategies and goals. Must demonstrate a broad knowledge of local, state and federal laws and the ability to work effectively with regulatory agencies.
Will work closely with various internal customers within the R&D and Supply Chain business units, embedded contractors and external agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP), the Valley Forge Sewer Authority (VFSA) and East Whiteland Township.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with various internal collaborators and external agencies such as PA DEP and EPA.
- Develop and implement operational procedures to ensure compliance with safety and industrial hygiene regulatory and corporate standards.
- Help to maintain the Malvern campus EHS&S industrial hygiene strategy, general occupational safety programs and management of change process.
- Partner with local management to develop and implement a site safety and industrial hygiene Corrective and Preventive Action Plan to address EH&S program deficiencies and ensure EH&S regulatory compliance.
- Compile and report monthly, quarterly, and annual EH&S metrics where vital.
- Develop and provide training to associates and partners in the general safety and industrial hygiene programs.
- Perform routine EH&S industrial hygiene (i.e. chemical, biological, etc.) risk assessments and inspections when necessary.
- Prepare audit reports/corrective action plans and collaborate with key customers to implement corrective measures.
- Provide support of key technical EH&S programs (such as exposure risk assessment, chemical management, hazard communication, chemical hygiene, hearing conservation, contractor safety, etc.)
- Develop EH&S objectives for assigned programs - auditing, analyzing, documenting, and reporting on their implementation and efficiency to management via dashboards & reports.
- Support and facilitate site EH&S laboratory and manufacturing committees/teams to ensure implementation of the EH&S programs.
- Collaborate with other functions to ensure EH&S aspects of external manufacturers, suppliers and contractor programs are in place.
- Perform Risk Assessments and develop control and action plans for the identified hazards and risks.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or other technical field is required. A Master of Science degree in an EH&S related field is preferred.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- A Minimum 4 years of EH&S work experience
- Experience in building, leading and maintaining EH&S programs
- Knowledge of federal and state EH&S regulations
- Experience in industrial hygiene, general occupational safety, construction safety and management of change
- Classroom and virtual training skills
- Experience in identifying, evaluating and controlling EH&S hazards
- 6 years of technical industrial hygiene and safety experience
- Certifications In Safety and industrial Hygienist field are preferred
- Laboratory safety, machine safety and contractor safety program implementation
- Ability to interpret regulatory issues and provide solutions for remediation
Requires up to 10% domestic travel
