**Requisition ID:** 174165 **Job Level:** Senior Level **Home District/Group:** Kiewit Building Group **Department:** Estimating **Market:** Building **Employment Type:** Full Time **Position Overview** Kiewit Building Group is looking for an Senior Estimator that can assist the estimating team with various estimates more that $30 million for vertical buildings in the markets of commercial, education, sports, healthcare, mixed use, multifamily and government installations. **District Overview** Kiewit Building Group specializes in constructing office buildings, industrial complexes, education and sports facilities, hotels, hospitals, transportation terminals, science and technology facilities, manufacturing, retail and special-use facilities and extensive interior construction with tenant improvements. Its capabilities include general construction, construction management, design-build, design-assist and turn-key project development.? Kiewit also provides fast, accurate preconstruction project management services.? **Location** This position will be based out of the KBG regional office in Federal Way, WA. Some travel will be required for pursuits in other geographical regions and offices. **Responsibilities** + Develop complete estimates for large, complex jobs. + Review owner plans and specifications to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project; develop plan for the actual construction to serve as basis for the estimate. + Reviewing and assisting with proposals and other documentation to prepare cost estimates + Reviews all bid and contract documents and home office legal department opinions. + Conduct site investigation prior to forming a plan of operations to identify any problems or conditions of an unusual nature that may be present. + Utilize engineer techniques and procedures to conduct investigation and adhere to standard company policy and procedures. + Perform design work as required by the project that is beyond the estimator scope of experience; handle any major technical problems encountered during bid preparation. + Stay abreast of trends and developments, such as new equipment, methods and procedures that are developing in the industry. + Become proficient in Kiewit's estimating program, "InEight Estimate". + Provide leadership and strategy in subcontractor and vendor selection process + Prepare special engineering studies or reports required by certain bid items or conditions. + Consult with owners on various problems discovered during bid preparation, design, rates, schedules, etc. **Qualifications** \#LI-MO1 + Undergraduate or graduate degree in mechanical, electrical, civil or construction-related technology, OR other Bachelor's level degree and extensive and related work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge, skills and abilities described above. + 10+ years' related experience - Field and office experience is preferred. + Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience with complex Vertical Building projects + Exceptionally strong attention to detail, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills + Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Work, Outlook, PowerPoint) + Ability to perform duties in wide-ranging physical and climatic conditions, heights and negotiation of complex stair structures#LI-MO1 Other Requirements: + Regular, reliable attendance + Work productively and meet deadlines timely + Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. + Perform work safely and effectively.
