We are currently looking to add a Drainage Project Engineer to our team. As a Hydraulic Department Head, your responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities:- Perform spread calculations, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design, drainage tabulation analysis, drainage map delineation, and Bridge Scour Analysis to create drainage plans and hydraulic reports for GDOT and other clients, with guidance provided on complex matters
- Perform hydraulic design aspects of drainage structures, prepared reports, and studies to meet FEMA requirements as part of the State DOT procedures
- Roadway drainage (including culvert and BMP design) performed using the design guidelines from AASHTO Green Book, FHWA and State DOT manuals
- Approach tasks with a project mindset, to include coordination with other disciplines throughout the duration of the project; propose innovative solutions to design problems with an understanding of project scope and goals
- Assign, track, and review tasks of technicians, designers, and engineers, ensuring adherence to project schedules; QC final work product
- Prepare engineering reports and contract documents for review; perform independent peer reviews on team work products
- Review contract plans and calculations from other engineering teams and outside entities to verify completion and compliance with governing drainage design codes and contract plans and specifications
- Potential to serve as the Engineer-of-Record
- Effectively present proposed team design solutions as part of internal project meetings; attend and contribute to presentations with external parties
- Adhere to company marketing requirements by providing timely personal resume updates, providing technical proposal support, and participating in marketing campaigns
- Ensure timely completion of time sheets, expense reports, and labor hours management
- Take ownership of personal and team member career development by seeking and providing feedback, seizing opportunities to develop and teach new skills, and setting and pursuing goals
- Contribute to the development of team members through mentorship and modeling positive behaviors
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- Years of Experience: 10+ years
- Understanding of HEC-RAS, HY-8
