The Manufacturing Team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware. This includes flight vehicles and payloads, test fixtures, ground support equipment, and production lines. This responsibility includes everything in the manufacturing value-chain, including, but not limited to, Design for Manufacturability work, tool design & selection, process creation & optimization, vendor sourcing & interaction, quality planning, and work documentation associated with the hardware that the Manufacturing Engineer owns.The right person for this role can demonstrate past holistic ownership on solving technical challenges with a creative, physical, and scrappy solutions that they either personally manufacturing or oversaw manufacturing on, in a fast-paced, resource-limited environment. If you are someone who thrives in such an environment, then this role is for you. WHAT YOU'LL DOOwn Integration and testing of Anduril’s space productsDrive system level design and testing procedureProvide Design for manufacturability and assembly feedbackDevelop novel tooling solutions for fabrication and assemblyOwn Integration of Anduril payloads onto satellite and launch vehiclesWrite documentation required for successfully manufacturing their hardware at scale, such as work instructions, quality plans, inspection requirements, etc.Evaluate and disposition nonconformances of flight hardwareIterate on assembly processes to incorporate lessons learnedWork with contract manufacturers and bus providers to develop repeatable, sustained processes for quick-turn development as well as at-scale productionWork with technicians and other engineers hands-on, building prototype hardwareContribute to end-customer hardware mechanical or electrical design, including interconnects, board fabrication and inspection, etc.Travel to partner sites to do final integration, Qualification, and acceptance testingREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSDegree in a technical field such as engineering, math, or a hard scienceAt least 5 years of experience in a relevant field, preferably space manufacturing, systems engineering, or design of electromechanical hardwareDemonstrated ability to creatively deliver electromechanical hardware in a resource-constrained environmentDemonstrated in-kind or direct team leadership skills, with backing examplesPersonal experience physically manufacturing hardware via any means (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, etc.) Work on personal or extracurricular projects is a plus.Familiarity with CAD software, Manufacturing Execution systems, and ERP/MRP systemsA genuine interest in manufacturing and thirst for learningU.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled dataPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSTest hardware and software development experienceExperience with integration and testing of avionics, payloads, solar, propulsion, ADCS, or other space hardwareSoftware scripting experience in any languageExperience writing test plans, procedures, and work instruction documentationAbility to work in space manufacturing environmentsDemonstrated skill at driving and questioning design and customer requirementsCurrently possess an active U.S. Secret/Top Secret security clearanceUS Salary Range$128,000—$210,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
