About the Role
The Senior Logistics Engineering Specialist/Technical Lead serves as a team lead and technical focal point for all Logistics, Supportability, and Maintainability issues within the Logistics Engineering Design section, across all assigned programs and contracts. The Lead trains, guides, and assists all junior Logistics Engineers within the section, and is capable of representing the Logistics Engineering organization as the prime technical contact on all contracts and projects. When required the Technical Lead interfaces with external functional groups on significant technical matters that often require coordination between organizations. The Lead is responsible for all team-generated logistics technical input and design recommendations to ensure a balanced design and soldier centric focus. The Lead manages and reviews operator source data development to ensure contract deliverables are delivered on or ahead of schedule and on or below budget. The Lead is responsible for the team's technical interface with the Government for all Logistics issues, and responsible for ensuring customer expectations are met with regard to Logistics products and services.

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role
- Lead and guide teams of Logistics Engineers across several programs to develop contract deliverables within the budget and schedule.
- Interface with design engineers, Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads, and other functional organizations to ensure logistics, supportability, and maintainability issues are adequately identified and addressed.
- Lead and instruct the performance of Logistics Front End Analysis (FEA) and Logistics Support
Analysis (LSA), to include Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Supportability Analysis (SA), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Analysis to identify resources required to maintain and support the design. Experience with COMPASS software required. - Review and instruct the review of drawings, Change Requests (CR), Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), computer models and other technical documentation to identify maintenance and supply support requirements for the design.
- Support and teach the development, maintenance and update of requirements database in accordance with GEIA-STD-0007 and MIL-STD-1388-2B. Experience with SlicWave or other LSAR software required.
- Translate engineering & other technical information into source data in support of ILS products development. Develop Logistics Engineering source data to be used in the creation of Operator Technical Manuals.
- Assess and teach the assessment of emerging designs for requirements compliance and recommend design alternatives to enhance supportability and maintainability.
- Provide logistical input during the preparation of programmatic contractual documents (i.e. SOWs, CIDs, CDRLs, SEMPs, etc).
- Support the Section Manager in estimating (bids and proposals), project planning and prioritization, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and execution of Logistics Engineering Scope.
Qualifications Sought
- Bachelor Degree in engineering discipline.
- Army or Marine military experience highly desirable.
- Extensive hands on experience in the operation and maintenance of ground combat vehicles highly desirable.
- Operations and maintenance of ground combat vehicles (Abrams, Stryker, Bradley, LAV, HMMWV) during combat operations a plus. Abrams or Bradley Master Gunner qualification is a plus.
- Experience conducting Logistics Support Analysis (LSA)/ Supportability Analysis (SA), to include Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Special tools and test equipment (STTE), Basic Issue Items (BII), Component of End Items (COEI) and Additional Authorization List (AAL) items.
- Experience writing technical manual tasks required.
- Thorough working knowledge of U.S. Army logistics support structure, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications (oral and written) skills required.
- Team Leadership experience.
- Motivation to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Personal computer skills, familiarity with CAD.
- Must be able to work overtime periodically as required, including weekends and holidays as schedule dictates.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to travel as required.
- Must be able to qualify for a secret clearance.
