This company, located in Fort Wayne, IN, manufactures high-quality gears for industries such as aerospace, defense, medical, automotive, and more! This is a family owned business with a team oriented approach to their operations, expressing that individual career growth is of importance to them. Since 1997, their 48,000 sq ft facility houses 24 employees, some with tenure anywhere from 20-25 years. With a growth oriented leadership team, the shop has invested into new technology, currently implementing Esprit into the shop, and looking to double their operation.
In this role, you will bring your technical knowledge of turning machines to program and set up machines with trajectory to move into a leadership role as the company grows - you might even help coach other machinists/operators along the way. What's more, you will influence future machine purchases and be involved in quoting new jobs. The ideal candidate will take parts from cradle to grave on 2 axis lathes and lathes with live tooling to ensure quality parts before the machine operator takes over for prototype and production work.
This is a 1st shift position with flexible scheduling from 6:45 AM - 4 PM.

- Collaborate with production manger, quality department and operators
- Purchase tooling that you need to be successful in this role
- Assist in development of shop processes and growth
- Train and oversee other machinists as the shop grows
- Write instruction sheets and tool lists
- 5+ years of experience programming (Esprit, MasterCAM, etc.), setting up, operating, and editing
- Ability to read and interpret customer and engineer drawings and prints
- Knowledge of measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills required with the ability to communicate across various levels of the organization
- CMM, EDM, and Solidworks exp is a plus
