Responsibilities
- Notifying business contacts when a client or contracted provider, pharmacy or pharmaceutical company has filed for bankruptcy, keeping those contacts informed of important issues during the pendency of the bankruptcy; answering questions and providing recommendations when needed.
- Identifying and developing a strategy to handle issues that arise during the bankruptcy that minimizes the necessity to hire outside counsel.
- Monitoring bankruptcy dockets periodically and reviewing filings as appropriate.
- Identifying and requesting copies of debtor's contracts, agreements and policies from various internal sources.
- Drafting and filing proofs of claim.
- Assembling documentation to respond to demand letters, adversary complaints, claim objections and other filings.
- Working closely with and providing support to outside counsel, including but not limited to, devising a strategy to follow, reviewing and providing suggested revisions to documents drafted by outside counsel prior to filing.
- Compiling and reporting metrics associated with bankruptcy matters and remaining collection activities.
- Implementing streamlined operational procedures to increase efficiency.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 8 years' experience of paralegal support in bankruptcy required.
- An insurance background would be helpful, but not required.
- BA/BS in Finance, Accounting or similar field preferred.
- Must be able to work independently, exhibit sound judgment and maintain confidential information.
- Detail oriented with impeccable organizational skills and the ability to work in a high-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Must be able to review internal billing statements across various business lines and review documents associated with bankruptcy proceedings.
- *Hybrid role- this role will require someone to be in the office 50% of the time. The locations are Philadelphia, Connecticut or St. Louis
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
