Responsibilities
- Transportation Design: Develop and manage transportation design projects, including roadways, highways, intersections, and transportation infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Traffic Analysis: Conduct traffic studies and analysis, utilizing industry-standard software and methodologies to optimize traffic flow, reduce congestion, and enhance safety.
- Project Management: Lead and coordinate transportation engineering projects from inception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and client communication to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on federal, state, and local transportation regulations and codes, ensuring all engineering designs and projects adhere to these requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, and environmental specialists, to integrate transportation solutions into larger development and infrastructure projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License: Possess a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of New Jersey or the ability to obtain one within six months of employment.
- Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in transportation engineering, with a strong preference for candidates who have prior experience working with the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT).
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in transportation engineering software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Synchro/SimTraffic, and familiarity with GIS tools.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal project teams.
Preferred Qualification:
- NJDOT Experience: Previous experience working with the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) on transportation projects is highly preferred.
