POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Senior Vice President the incumbent develops, organizes, and implements high quality program(s) in accordance with the Family YMCA of Greater Augusta's mission. Responsible for Welcome Center, Membership, Youth Programming and Wellness departments. This position has the potential to develop into a Branch Director position as Steiner Branch Y moves to builds a full service facility in Columbia County in the next 3-5 years. The incumbent must be able to launch and/or assist in a capital campaign. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists with branch activities to meet YMCA objectives.
- Expands programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Manages Wellness and Membership departments and oversees the programming and operations of Youth Programs.
- Ensures high quality programs and establishes new and existing program activities.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance.
- Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Assists in budgets related to the position.
- Ensures Wellness and Youth Programs, Membership and Welcome Center operates within budget and that program fees are collected.
- Ensures that YMCA program standards are met, and safety procedures followed.
- Provides for upkeep of assigned branch facilities and equipment and ensures the physical environment supports healthy living.
- Develops and maintains relationships with other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of branch information, may organize and schedule program registrations. May review and process scholarship applications.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.
- Assist in the development and implementation of membership campaigns.
- Attends Branch Board meetings.
- Assists in the recruitment of Board members and key branch volunteers.
- Compiles branch statistics and surveys.
- Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in programs.
- Accepts and demonstrates the Character Development Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
- Actively participates and supports the annual scholarship campaign.
- Complies with all DHS/CPI guidelines and requirements.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two to three years supervisory experience.
- Two to four years Family YMCA experience preferred.
- Certification required within 45 days of hire: Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Position is in office environment, wellness floor and requires automobile travel to branches, training, seminars, or workshops.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Bending, stooping, lifting to 50lbs, verbal communication, hearing, seeing, 40% keyboard input, some sitting.
