Are you passionate about transforming healthcare through innovative technology? Smyl Fitness Rx is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Program Manager to lead our functional health and fitness initiatives. In this hands-on role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams—strategy, software, research, and operations—to design and manage programs that improve health outcomes for older adults.
As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to shape and deploy cutting-edge health and fitness programs, leveraging AI and digital solutions to enhance the well-being of older adults. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare and/or fitness, a solid understanding of health technology, exceptional communication skills, and a genuine interest in working within a dynamic, early-stage healthcare startup environment.

This is a hands-on role with the ideal candidate “rolling up their sleeves,” to flex robust project management skills, including the ability to effectively plan, execute, and monitor projects from inception to completion. You’ll actively engage with both internal teams and clients to enhance the adoption of Smyl technology, supporting our value-based payer and healthcare provider customers in improving outcomes for older adult populations.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Program Development and Delivery
- Design, implement, and manage evidence-based fall prevention and fitness programs for older adults across multiple settings (e.g., clinics, communities, homes, online).
- Oversee health coaching and educational content delivery through various channels (e.g., phone/text-based coaching, live events, online videos).
- Engage with stakeholders to accelerate the adoption of innovative technologies and solutions that enhance healthcare delivery.
Program Management and Strategy
- Develop and advance strategic initiatives that align with Smyl’s mission, using data and metrics to assess program performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare reports and communicate results to senior leadership and stakeholders, managing KPIs and business reviews effectively.
- Lead team members and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders contributing to strategic health initiatives.
Education and Outreach
- Develop and execute a comprehensive calendar of educational fall prevention and fitness programs for older adult community members.
- Conduct engaging health and wellness presentations on relevant topics, such as fall prevention, home safety, balance exercises, physical activity, and healthy aging.
Research and Innovation Coordination
- Collaborate with technology and research teams to drive the development of innovative solutions that enhance fall prevention efforts and community engagement.
- Gather feedback from team members and participants to support evolving needs and drive continuous improvement of programs and initiatives.
Leadership and Team Management
- Hire, supervise, and mentor a team of therapists and/or medical exercise specialists, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Manage projects from inception to completion, including charter, scope, budget, timelines, risks, and outcomes.
- Coordinate and contribute to strategic planning processes and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Client Relationship Management
- Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with senior clients, including physicians, health clinics, and health plans.
- Actively participate in care team meetings and collaborate with providers to enhance participant outcomes.
- Educate healthcare professionals about Smyl Fitness services to drive engagement and support
Qualifications
- 5+ years of program or project management experience, particularly in healthcare or wellness settings.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale programs with a focus on improving healthcare outcomes.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong track record of building relationships across diverse groups.
- Significant experience in people and project management, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to ongoing training and development certifications such as Certified Exercise Expert for Aging Adults, Exercise is Medicine® (EIM), ACE Senior Fitness Specialist, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in clinical care and/or and fitness (e.g., physical therapy, exercise science, medicine, nursing, etc.). Expertise related to older adults, balance, and fall prevention (strongly preferred).
- Master’s degree or MBA in business, healthcare administration, or a related field.
- Experience in startups and/or with health technology solutions.
