Senior Project Accountant
CFS has partnered with a construction company in Westchester County to help identify a Senior Project Accountant. The Senior Project Accountant is responsible for oversight and control of all job site accounting functions, assisting with quarterly and monthly reporting and general office and managerial duties. The Senior Project Accountant will assist the Division Controller in meeting the financial and contract requirements of the division.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures
- Ensure all invoices are routed to correct job sites and are approved/managed in a timely manner
- Review and approve batches and forward to AP Clerk for processing.
- Review and process monthly accrual for job supplies, permanent materials, and equipment.
- Process monthly billings to owner including accruals at month-end close and update as required
- Reconcile contract status (at each billing to owner is received, add modifications in system to equal change orders)
- Review the Owner Requisition log held at jobsite to ensure it is correct and complete
- Monitor back charges to different companies /subs/ vendors etc.
- Verify all jobsite scrap material is processed in accordance with corporate guidelines
- Review commitments to ensure they are complete and correct
- Work with Project Managers, Cost Engineers, Project Controllers and Job Site Office managers to facilitate maintenance of PO and Sub commitments in system
- Ensure maintenance of subcontract file at jobsite
- Verify current insurance certificate status
- Review and enter requisitions including accruals
- Confirm and Review creation, reporting and filing of MBE/WBE requirements.
- Setup Job Cost Master File
- Work with Engineer to translate estimate into correct and complete budget
- Prepare Budget Authorization Form
- Enter Budget into Job Cost Master including quantity, man hours and dollars
- Total Job Cost Report
- Weekly Labor Reports
- Process all Job Cost and Budget Adjustment Transfers according to procedure
- Verify signatures
- Ensure Numbering Convention is followed This will also alert if any transfers or adjustments have been misplaced
- Assist/train job site personnel - JD Edwards issues/problems
- Ensure job site accountants are maintaining office at jobsite in a professional and presentable manner
- Monthly site visit to each jobsite (ensure compliance with procedures, completion of jobsite accountant tasks, training as needed)
Desired Qualifications:
- BS/BA in Accounting or related field
- Knowledge of JD Edwards is a plus
- Strong Excel skills/knowledge
Compensation: $95,000 - $175,000 depending on experience.
