Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Property Accountant consultant to join our client's team in Newport Beach, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property accounting and be proficient in using Yardi software.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of property accounting including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple properties.
Conduct financial analyses and prepare detailed reports to support property management and investment decisions.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Reconcile tenant ledgers and resolve discrepancies in tenant accounts.
Manage cash flow and budgeting for each property.
Monitor and report on financial performance, including variances, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support to auditors.
Collaborate with property managers, leasing agents, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
Utilize Yardi software to maintain accurate property and financial records.
Implement process improvements and best practices in property accounting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting or real estate accounting.
Proficiency in Yardi software is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
