Position
As a Senior Scientist 1, Bioinformatics, you will support groundbreaking research by developing cutting-edge analyses that streamline the drug discovery process. You will play a critical role in analyzing complex data to drive the development of novel therapies. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, biologists, and data scientists, to advance innovative research and translate findings into clinical applications.

What You’ll Do
- Data Analysis: Analyze large datasets, including whole-genome/exome sequencing, RNA-seq, and other high-throughput data, to identify genetic alterations, biomarkers, and therapeutic targets
- Pipeline Development: Develop, optimize, and maintain bioinformatics pipelines for processing, analyzing, and interpreting data related to drug discovery
- Research Support: Collaborate with research teams to integrate bioinformatics findings with clinical data, aiding in the development of novel therapies
- Data Interpretation: Interpret complex data and provide actionable insights to guide experimental design, drug development, and clinical decision-making
- Collaboration: Work closely with research biologists, and other researchers to support the design and analysis of
- Literature Review: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in drug discovery, genomics, bioinformatics tools, and methodologies, and apply this knowledge to ongoing projects
- Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports, visualizations, and presentations to communicate findings to both scientific and non-scientific stakeholders
Qualifications
- Postdoc Fellowship plus 2 years of relevant experience, or Ph.D. plus 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree plus 14 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree plus 16 years of relevant experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field
- Strong expertise in scientific python (e.g., pandas, scipy, matplotlib)
- Experience with current NGS data
- Expertise in data workflow management systems (g., Snakemake, Nextflow) a plus
- Experience with large public datasets (g. TCGA, CCLE, COSMIC) a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Team oriented, flexible, able to adapt to rapidly evolving goals and challenges
- Enthusiasm for gaining biological and drug discovery experience essential

The expected salary range for this role is $143,000 to $156,750 depending on skills, competency, and the market demand for your expertise.
