Takeda Development Center Americas, Inc. is seeking a Senior Scientist, Oligonucleotide Chemistry in San Diego, CA with the following requirements: PhD degree in Chemistry or related field or foreign academic equivalent plus 5 years of related experience. Prior experience must include: Understand chemistry and biology to analyze data and discuss with other researchers to plan strategies for drug discovery projects; independently design and implement scientific research projects relating to the development of oligonucleotide therapeutics; perform and direct synthesis of organic molecules, including chemically modified oligonucleotides; plan assay designs and manage technicians, including both in-house and external CROs to execute them. Up to 10% domestic and international travel required. Up to 50% remote work allowed.
Full time. $130,200 - $223,200 per year.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Takeda Development Center Americas, Inc. is seeking a Senior Scientist, Oligonucleotide Chemistry with the following duties: Design and organize the synthetic plans of oligonucleotides that meet drug discovery research criteria; Perform experiments which need special care due to moisture, air- and light- sensitive reagents; Discuss with researchers in the other departments to plan the assay schedules along with the portfolio and timelines; Report the projects’ progress to seniors to accelerate the timelines by gaining more resources; Attend conferences a couple of times annually as a representative to look for further collaborations and maintain the company’s reputation for hiring great talents in the future.
