Role Summary
Understands and executes a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures.
Ability to complete moderately complex assignments.
Conducts more advanced chemical and/or chemical engineering related experiments, complex technical operations, or information search/analysis projects and optimizes and interprets methodologies and analysis and suggests experiments or alternative approaches.
Recognizes erroneous or unexpected results, interprets, and analyzes results and makes suggestions based on their analysis and conclusions.
Interprets and analyzes results, makes suggestions on path forward and contributes to formulating work plans and managing daily workflow.
Independently adapts new methodology to current projects.
Leadership
Effectively assigns and outlines work to technicians. Drives technical experiments to achieve desired results through technicians by an established deadline.
Influences and advises developing Scientists and technicians on technical problems.
Volunteers to helps others to build organizational currency and easily engages reciprocal peer support when needed.
Demonstrates ownership mindset and removes obstacles on shared projects to deliver on commitments.
Degree of Autonomy and Authority
Under moderate supervision. Work assigned with detailed oral and occasionally written instructions as to methods and procedures to be followed.
Results are usually reviewed in detail and technical guidance is available.

Knowledge Management
Seeks out internal technical experts and seeks and encourages sharing of knowledge through Axalta's internal communities of practice and networks to advance technical capability building and competency.

Handles complex problems through data analysis. Uses DOE for complex product development projects minimizing number of iterations and experiments.
Promotes new product ideas based on competitive intelligence and benchmarking. Leads/Co-leads incident investigation where contributing factors are technology related.
