OpenWrench is a San Francisco-based, fully remote startup that connects retailers, restaurants, gyms and other commercial tenants with local service providers like electricians, plumbers and HVAC technicians for facilities maintenance.
We’re backed by top investors including Y Combinator, Haystack, Liquid2 and Flexport Ventures. Example customers include Planet Fitness, McDonald’s and Gold’s Gym.
We're looking to add our first engineering hires outside of the founders, and excited for new teammates to join us who are the best at what they do. We're passionate about building a company with a great culture.
About this role:
You'll own and shape technical infrastructure and product roadmap from the earliest stages as a member of the founding team.
You’ll own part of product that our users depend on to run their businessesYou'll work alongside the founders.
You'll help build/define the engineering culture.
We're looking for:

You've shipped product(s) (not code!) to production that users love.
You’ve the discipline to get things done.
You possess strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, programming languages), to take on any technical challenge and find solutions for it.
Technical Skills:Solid experience with Scala (Play/Akka/Lagom)
Solid experience with MySQL, Kafka and Redis
Experience with Python
Experience with Docker (and Docker internals)
Experience with AWS (Elastic Beanstalk/SQS/SNS/Lambda/CloudWatch)
Experience with Websockets
Experience with Kubernetes
Bonus points if you’ve done work with React/React Native

Desire for technical leadership role and interest in setting the long term vision for our engineering organization as our team grows.
You have 3+ years of professional experience writing and maintaining production-level applications.
