Senior Staff Accountant

Our client is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in the financial health of their steel manufacturing division. You'll be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions, from month-end close to internal controls, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and timely month-end close journal entries and account reconciliations, adhering to GAAP principles.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of month-end and quarter-end fluctuations.
• Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and internal procedures.
• Partner with the sales team to guarantee timely and accurate invoicing and revenue recognition.
• Collaborate with accounting management to implement process improvements and streamline operations.
• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual census surveys.
• Provide support to internal and external auditors during audits and regulatory reviews.
• Actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Advanced proficiency in Excel
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
