Join us. **Job Description** **AECOM** is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to be based in either our Clifton, NJ or New York Metro office and work on the structural design of buildings and transportation structures for a variety of clients. The **Senior Structural Engineer** will be responsible for the following items: Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer + Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures + Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests + Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments + Identifies discrepancies in results + Provides guidance to entry level engineers + Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision + Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works + Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position **AECOM’s Buildings + Places** practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture. Our teams have worked on signature projects such as the London 2012 Olympic Park and Legacy Framework, to the new plan for the LA2028 Olympics, to industrial facilities for GE and Rolls-Royce, to headquarters and workplaces for NASA, Unilever, Sony Music, DirecTV, Box, Inc., and many Fortune 500 companies. **Qualifications** Minimum Requirements : + BS in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering or related discipline plus four (4) years of relevant experience in structural design of buildings and transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education + Must have either ETABS or SAP experience to qualify for this position + Must be able to perform site visits to observe and report on construction activities and address field questions as well as coordinate design and construction issues Preferred Qualifications : + ​PE License or the ability to obtain the license within 12 months of employment + Specific software experience in ETABS or SAP, RAM Structural, AutoCAD, SAFE, TEDDS, SAP2000, MathCAD, SpecsIntact, spColumn, spBeam, spWall, Enercalc + Revit experience is highly desirable + Masters in Structural Engineering + Eight (8) years of professional Structural Engineering design experience of buildings and transportation structures is preferred **Additional Information** + Relocation is not available for this position + Sponsorship is available for this position Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
