Opportunity:
This position is instrumental in the design and implementation of advanced system solutions for electric vehicle powertrains with a focus on systems architecture and requirements analysis. The right candidate would have a strong understanding of customer requirements while ensuring functional safety. They can lead verification and validation processes to meet high-quality standards in powertrain technology. A Day in the Life:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for EV or energy storage standards and regulations across various industry applications
- Understand the high-level customer application and define specific standards and regulations to best support the project goal
- Manage product development and documentation throughout the product lifecycle
- Conduct concept and engineering design reviews to ensure compliance with all necessary standards and regulations
- Oversee product testing, defining test cases, metrics, and procedures to verify compliance internally
- Lead coordination efforts for certification testing and interface with external testing labs when necessary
- Leverage diversity of resources (human, technical, equipment, vendor relationships) to execute projects successfully
What You Bring:
- B.S. or M.S. degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience with electric vehicles or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of applicable standards for testing and certification of high-voltage electric powertrain components
- Understanding of software, electrical and mechanical design, as well as product development lifecycle
- Experience with requirements management at system level including specific tools as Jama, DOORs, Polarion, etc.
- Experience in conducting functional safety analysis according to regulatory standards such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508 or ISO 13849
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Experience in system-level architecture design for aerospace and/or automotive
What Makes You Stand Out:
- Experience working with High Voltage Battery Systems (400 / 800 VDC)
- Experience with Battery Management Systems (BMS) at hardware and Software Level
- Experience designing schematics, PCB, and CAD
- Experience working with different communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, RS232, J1939, ..).
- Experience with programming languages (C, C++, Python, MATLAB, C#, etc.)
- Experience with system-level model simulation (Simulink, PSpice, etc.)
- Experience working with functional safety and FMEA analysis (medical, automotive, industrial, aerospace, etc.).
- Experience facing clients and suppliers
