Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities.
- Conduct research on tax laws and stay updated on any changes that may affect the company's tax liabilities.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.
- Conduct account reconciliation tasks to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Prepare and review payroll tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely filing.
- Provide guidance on tax implications of business decisions and strategies.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure overall financial compliance.
- Assist in tax planning activities and strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting or related field required.
- CPA license preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Tax Accountant or similar role.
- Extensive knowledge of federal income tax, state income tax, and tax returns.
- Proficient in the use of accounting software.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and their preparation.
- Proven experience in tax preparation and payroll tax returns.
- Exceptional ability to conduct tax research and stay updated on tax laws and regulations.
- Skilled in account reconciliation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
