We are seeking an individual who enjoys being engaged with a cohesive team and has a desire to participate in all aspects of the tax department. As such, this role is responsible for assisting with tax compliance, tax provision, and tax accounting work streams.
Responsibilities:
Assists with preparation of the consolidated US federal income tax return using OneSource Income Tax Software. Prepares state and local income and franchise tax returns using OneSource Income Tax Software. Prepares estimated state tax payments/vouchers, return extensions and additional tax compliance filings. Prepares state income tax apportionment analysis and related schedules. Responds to state tax notices and assists with state tax audits. Assists with the quarterly income tax provision calculations and year-end tax provision matters using OneSource Tax Provision software (e.g., calculations, deferred tax analysis, state taxes payable analysis, return-to-provision comparison, effective state rate analysis, etc.). Performs difficult research assignments and participates in special tax projects. Reviews the Company's "Tax Calendar" to ensure timely filing of all items. Keeps abreast of current tax laws, regulations, and practices. Assists with ongoing process improvement initiatives. Performs ad hoc projects as needed. Provides input to enhance output and improve efficiencies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting. Three-four years of experience working with business income tax returns/CPA preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Excel Working knowledge in OneSource Income Tax software/OneSource Tax Provision Software. Working knowledge of Checkpoint or similar tax research software Ability to complete tasks in a competent and timely fashion. Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and business stakeholders.
