Responsibilities:
As a Senior Transportation Engineer, your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Developing concept design drawings and construction documents, including signing and pavement marking plans.
2. Preparing and managing cost estimates for transportation projects.
3. Conducting traffic engineering studies and analyzing collision data to improve road safety.
4. Designing streets and bicycle paths to enhance transportation efficiency and user experience.
5. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
6. Leveraging your strong communication skills to present findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
7. Utilizing software tools such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D in the design and planning process.
8. Ensuring all work complies with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following:
1. A bachelor's or master's degree in civil or transportation engineering.
2. A professional engineering license, with preference given to those licensed in California.
3. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including experience in developing concept design drawings, construction documents, cost estimates, and conducting traffic engineering studies.
4. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
5. Extensive experience in street and bicycle path design.
6. A strong understanding of collision data and its application in improving road safety.
7. Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
8. The ability to work well in a team and independently.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
10. A proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
