About the Job
This role is part of JPMorgan Chase's Operations User Experience team supporting Innovation and Product Strategy. The Innovation and Product Strategy team inside Consumer and Community Banking Operations is in place to solve real problems by bringing the most compelling emerging technologies into our organization. We do this through a process of discovery, proofs of technology, and end user pilots. Our goal is to unlock acceleration, value, and best-in-class experiences that position our 30K+ global Operations colleagues to deliver superior services to our employees and our customers.
As a Senior UI/UX Designer in Innovation and Product Strategy, you will help product teams tap into the creative energy of emerging technology to drive transformation, new growth, and heightened customer experience. Success in this role comes from understanding the customer and business needs, strong collaboration with your peers, thoughtful planning and coordination across product teams, taming complexity for our users, and leading design initiatives for the Innovation team.
Job responsibilities
+ Partner with the product team to research, develop and execute designs and strategies to support their Innovation initiatives. Most of the projects will involve visual and graphic design work.
+ Create cross-product and cross-firm connections to bolster large initiatives and create an innovation community.
+ Promote and create a more intrapreneurial culture across Operations, celebrating and highlighting the benefits of innovation through Innovation events, hackathons, open pitch initiatives, crowdsourcing, and evangelizing.
+ Spread the innovation mindset through Operations through educational events such as classes, workshops (design thinking, lean UX, etc) and consulting.
+ Prototype User Interface for new innovative applications, support innovation website and artifact design, create engaging presentation formats and designs.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
+ 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in user experience design or similar roles
+ Can direct self and others in both planning and structuring the work, and executing on expected levels of quality
+ Prior work involves collaboration within design teams (with other designers, UX researchers, and content designers) and cross-functionally with product managers and software engineers
+ Advanced skills in Interaction Design, Visual/UI Design, and Information Architecture; Intermediate ability in adjacent skills such as User Research, UX Writing, and Prototyping
+ Prior work shows how they used an understanding of business value and product strategy to lead to successful design outcomes
+ Comfortable and confident when presenting work to executives
+ Experience creating digital artifacts in Figma, PPT, and Adobe Creative Suite. (decks/presentations, graphics, logos, newsletter/web design)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
+ Advocate for Accessibility Guidelines and Inclusive Design practices
+ Has led design work on successful digital products, demonstrating user- and human-centered design approaches
+ Familiar with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, frameworks such as React, and mobile UI standards
