How you will help us do that in this role:
Your mission—should you choose to accept it—is to tell the most authentic and captivating Dirt World stories out there through video, shining a light on the people of the industry, our clients, and the solutions BuildWitt offers. You're a content creator at heart, always looking for fresh ways to tell a story and connect with your audience.
Your role will support the creative team, working with clients around the country to help them solve their biggest problem: hiring.
As a senior video director, you'll collaborate closely with our art directors, copywriters, producers, and editors to execute their vision for our clients' videos. Types of projects include brand overviews, employee experiences, role spotlights, campaign videos, and career path overviews.
You will travel often—sometimes once a month, sometimes 3 times a month. It's dependent on the season and our work backlog.
The reality is this type of work and lifestyle is not for everyone, but it's a dream job for others. It requires a lot of travel to some rugged locations and job sites. Key responsibilities:
- Have a deep understanding and knowledge of the Dirt World and our clients
- Work with our in-house creative team on developing video concepts that are aligned with our clients overall goals and creative direction.
- Take lead on execution of each video project from beginning to end, ensuring the team captures brand videos that align with the creative team's vision
- Collaborate with the production team on all aspects of pre-production such as: video conceptualization, shot lists, pre-interviews with subject, shoot logistics, and gear rentals
- Direct and shoot video for a wide range of content like: brand stories, project highlights, testimonials, social content, and more
- Able to effectively lead interviews with our clients for videos as needed
- Work with the post-production team by providing production notes, shot lists, and live feedback through the post process
- Use our project management software (Monday.com) by keeping up with deadlines, posting project updates, and tracking time to projects
- Support with BuildWitt marketing projects as needed
Required hard skills:
- Able to direct a small production crew or run solo shooting video while on active construction sites
- Strong cinematography skills and a solid portfolio of story-driven brand work
- Comfortable and flexible with using different cameras, lighting setups, audio equipment, and rigs
- Proven track record guiding a project from pre-production through post-production
- Deep knowledge and understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud
- Comfortable with a Mac environment
