The Service Line BI Analyst will play a key role in analyzing complex data sets, generating reports, and providing strategic insights to drive business decisions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of available business intelligence tools, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders. The primary duty of the BI Analyst is to transform data into insight that can help to improve the value of the business.
Required Knowledge & Skills
Education: Associate Degree or 2 years of college coursework
Experience: Two years of related experience. Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures.
Licenses and Certifications
*DRIVER'S LICENSE
Qualifications
*Degree in business, economics, computer science, statistics, or other healthcare related field preferred.
*Two years of related experience in an analytical role, preferably in a healthcare setting
*Experience with electronic medical record systems, Epic preferred.
*Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook and Smartsheets.
*Firm understanding of coding languages such as SQL or Python, as well as the basic fundamentals of code writing desired.
*Experience with data visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI.
*Strong understanding of hospital coding systems such as CPT, ICD-10 Dx, ICD-10 PCS, MS-DRG and HCPCS.
*Strong background in clinical informatics, data base management, statistics and quality improvement are all key requirements for the role.
*Lean process improvement training strongly preferred.
*An understanding of methodologies related to publicly reported quality ratings systems such as CMS's Hospital Care Compare, Healthgrades and Leapfrog desired.
*Excellent communication and presentation skills both oral and written.
