About the Job
The Production Supervisor reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for supervising team members and coordinating work activity, while ensuring safety, quality, and on time delivery while managing costs.
- SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1. Supervise and schedule all assigned employees on shift
- Provide daily direction of work content and activities. This includes starting each day with sufficient time to prepare/ plan for the required daily production.
- Excellent attendance is expected of supervisor in order to perform required duties.
- Responsible to audit daily to ensure all guidelines are met per ISO requirements.
- Responsible to plan for known labor shortages to ensure adequate labor is available.
- Responsible to confirm employee tasks are completed prior to end of shift.
- Responsible for documentation and disciplinary actions when needed
- Responsible for completing and approving shift's timesheets daily
2. Responsible to ensure all employees are properly trained on safety guidelines
- Responsible to complete thorough investigation of all accidents, injuries, or other safety concerns.
- Building evacuation methods: Responsible to ensure all assigned employees are evacuated and confirmed at gathering spot.
- Responsible for participating in all other safety activities as needed to ensure safest possible work environment for employees.
3. Responsible to ensure all employees receive proper training required for performing required daily tasks.
- Responsible to ensure proper training is provided employees regarding defect recognition, data collection and containment.
- Responsible to ensure proper 5S training is provided to assigned employees. This will include daily expectations by area and audits to ensure completion.
4. Responsible to complete tasks daily that will ensure smooth operation of assigned area and provide information to all those required.
- Responsible to ensure all production reports are completed at the end of their shift and are providing accurate information.
- Responsible to follow production schedule as issued by Production Manager.
- Responsible to work and communicate co-operatively with other shifts or departments to achieve desired results in relation to the company's goals.
- Responsible to set an example for employees by strict adherence to all company policies and guidelines.
- Responsible to direct trouble-shooting effort of issues to find permanent correction of issues.
- Responsible to participate and lead continuous improvement projects. This will include gathering data, analyzing, generating and implementing countermeasures, and confirming results and any other aspects of PPS or continuous improvement.
- Responsible to prepare and provide informative verbal and written pass-down to following shifts to ensure good communication of concerns or activities.
Shift Hours
- 3:30pm to 12:30am
Qualifications
Position requires 3 years related supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting. Demonstrated leadership success and problem-solving capability are required. The successful candidate will be results oriented, a strong communicator, and have a passion for safety and quality. To be successful, must consistently present oneself as positive and professional and maintain productive work relationships with team members at all levels.
Bi-Lingual is a plus
