Shipping Department Manager - Walkenhorst's

About the Job
Walkenhorst's is a small, family owned company in West Chester Township. We specialize in fulfilling orders for inmates incarcerated in state prisons across the United States. We are looking for a new manager to lead the shipping department to meet warehouse production goals.
What you will do:
Manage and lead a warehouse team of 15-20 people that includes order picking, packing, and shipping, as well as inventory processing and general warehouse maintenance personnel.
Provide training to warehouse associates to ensure standards are followed.
Provide coaching, feedback, and positive reinforcement on safety, quality of work, productivity and attitude, as well as helping subordinates make and achieve personal productivity goals.
Maintain documentation for tracking attendance, productivity, behavior, and safety.
Prepare production and staffing reports for management.
Work closely with various departments, including warehouse operations, sales, and customer service, as well as various shipping carriers, to coordinate the entire order fulfillment process.
Create and submit shipping documents with various carriers and schedule freight pickups.
Manage personnel requirements, including generating projections, calculating personnel needs, and assist in hiring new candidates.
Minimize fulfillment costs and enhance customer satisfaction by ensuring that orders are fulfilled accurately and shipped on time.
Hours are Monday Friday 7:30am - 5pm. Some Saturday and additional overtime shifts are required. Typical Workweek is 40-50 hours.
What you will need:
At least a 2 years of college experience or a 2-year college degree.
A minimum of 3 years of warehouse experience.
Experience providing leadership, supervision, accountability, and training, preferably in a warehouse environment.
Experience using a computerized inventory system and handheld computers, as well as a high level of proficiently with Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet programs.
Experience with forklifts, high platform order pickers, or similar equipment is a plus.
Ability to communicate effectively in order to coordinate with other departments.
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. periodically, as well as standing/walking for extended periods.
Ability to communicate in English (Spanish proficiency a plus).
