The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for unloading and processing all incoming merchandise. They'll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of shipments as they arrive to the store by checking unpacking deliveries as they prep items to be displayed on the sales floor. The Shipping and Receiving Associate will help sales staff maintain and replenish sales floor inventory.

The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for unloading and processing all incoming merchandise. They'll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of shipments as they arrive to the store by checking unpacking deliveries as they prep items to be displayed on the sales floor. The Shipping and Receiving Associate will help sales staff maintain and replenish sales floor inventory.
The Shipping & Receiving Associate Will:
- Be responsible for moving received merchandise shipments to the sales floor. They will also, along with sales staff, stage merchandise on the floor.
- Assist Sales Associates with merchandise re-stocking whenever necessary.
- Process any claims for inventory received damaged.
- Resolve receiving discrepancies due to wrong item, incorrect quantity, or other error.
- Oversee and execute all store-to-store transfers of merchandise.
- Maintain all required documents and records as it pertains to the department.
- Return defective or otherwise unsatisfactory merchandise to vendor.
- Determine the most economical and efficient shipping method and packaging options when preparing shipments. It is also the responsibility of the shipping and receiving associate to read work orders accurately, ensuring quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
- Trace lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery documents.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records.
- Ability to understand and adhere to safety procedures.
- Knowledge of light equipment operation and/or maintenance.
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
- Basic math skills required.
- Familiarity with postal and commercial shipping methods and procedures.
- Ability to operate dolly. Ability to operate a forklift, shrink-wrap machines a plus.
