Job Purpose:
The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator is responsible for receiving, storing, and shipping inventory for our company. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in shipping and receiving, including experience with Oracle. This is a hands-on position and the candidate must be able to work effectively under strict time constraints in a dynamic environment. The shipping and receiving coordinator must be detail-oriented and highly organized. He or she must also have excellent communication skills. This job may be known as shipping and receiving specialist.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for shipping (domestic/International) and receiving functions are conducted timely and accurately
Ensures materials are received from proper vendors, that they are placed in proper inventory locations, and that finished goods are packaged according to specification and shipped in a timely manner.
Reviews receipt of all materials to ensure purchase orders are open and the quality of materials received is correct such as materials certificates, First Article Inspection documents, etc.
Ensure packing slips and material certifications documents are validated, filled and filed accurately and properly
Examine contents and compare with shipping request to verify accuracy of outgoing shipments
Determine shipping method for material using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials
Create and ensure Commercial Invoices required for all cross-border shipments are filled and file accurately and properly
Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items.
Examines stock and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
Follows all company and facility policies including quality, safety, conduct and attendance.
Pick orders for shipping along with support staff
Ensures the security, accuracy, and accountability of materials and goods with inventory control.
Measure/weigh and record shipment data such as weight and dimension
Establishes and modifies operational methods and procedures.
Responsible for shipping and receiving key process indicators
Maintains documentation to reflect the effectiveness and efficiency of department activities.
Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in receiving, storing and distributing of metals and purchased parts, and assists with and performs other material handling duties.
Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items.
Lifts heavy items and operates a forklift (standing up, sitting down rider, and hand pallet jack).
Follows all company and facility policies including quality, safety, conduct and attendance.
Pick orders for shipping along with support staff
Receive Shipments and oversee and participate in inspections
Must work with the production team to coordinate availability of inventory based on what is on order.
Report and document any shipment, freight damages or discrepancies for investigation and record-keeping purposes.
Assist with inventory counts of finished goods as needed.
Quality control – Ensure all shipping and receiving Oracle transactions are performed timely and accurately.
Conduct inventory counts.
Load/unload materials from/to trucks
Examines stock and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
Deliver or route materials to departments using Forklift or pallet jack
Responsible for ensuring all shipments are coordinated in accordance with EHS policies and procedures and suspicious material is placed on hold and reported to the onsite Safety team immediately
Palletize and prep material, create packaging if needed.
Maintain records such as Inbound and Outbound Log and prepare reports related to assigned activities
This position requires working overtime when necessary.
This position requires the employee to proactively practice safety warehouse rules.
This position requires the employee to proactively lead and participate in 5S and warehouse continuous improvement activities.
This position requires the employee to complete all training assigned and required for the position in a timely manner.
Perform other shipping, receiving and inventory control management duties as required and identified by the area Supervisor/Manager
Education and Experience:
2 - 4+ years working experience in Shipping/Receiving, Warehouse Operations
Education - High School Diploma.
Data entry experience.
Oracle experience is a plus.
Experience with Forklift, pallet jack
Working knowledge of Domestic and International Shipping documentation
Excellent attention to detail, ability to follow through on Shipping issues
Team-oriented with a strong sense of urgency for deliverables
Flexible within a rapidly changing, dynamic work environment
Working knowledge of FedEx online software
General understanding of the warehouse practices
Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously
Participate in 5s, Continuous Improvement and Safety activities.

Salary Range (annual): $52,000 - $60,000
