026511 Shipping/Receiving Manager (Open)Job Description:
Supervises warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving functions. Supervises record-keeping activities for incoming and outgoing shipments. Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of operations or business colleagues. Typically possesses 4-8 years of relevant experience, including leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinates availability of delivery trucks and schedules finished product appointments with a focus on process optimization
- Determines shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
- May manage and negotiate external carriers' pricing. Monitoring customer services, overall performance, and contingencies plans for potential risk and identifying improvements.
- Coordinates activities with other departments, customers, and outside trucking firms. May be required to meet with transportation sales representatives.
- Oversees incoming and outgoing traffic to ensure shipment accuracy, completeness, and condition. Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
- Directs movement of inbound material from the shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
- Provides specifications on the purchase of new equipment and purchases parts/supplies as needed.
- Inspects maintains, and repairs truck fleet to ensure safe, cost-effective, on-time customer deliveries.
- Provides specifications for new equipment and purchases parts/supplies for repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Incorporates and ensures safety observances are met, including use of all PPE by colleagues, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good daily safety practices and habits, etc.
- Communicates goals and objectives, applies company policy, staffs, trains, coaches, recommends salary increases, ensures positive colleague relations, and reviews colleagues' performance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Typically possesses a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 4-8 years of relevant experience, including leadership experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Possesses a thorough understanding of trucking and transportation industries and regulations, warehouse operations, and shipping/receiving processes.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to balance multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrates ability to supervise less experienced colleagues effectively
