Structural Welder – Gulf Marine Repair
Gulf Marine Repair has immediate openings for Structural Welder. Successful candidates will possess the ability to weld in FCAW, GMAW, and SMAW weld procedures and will be familiar with proper ABS and USCG Shipyard practices. You will be required to be proficient in open root welding out of position. Candidates will also be required to demonstrate their ability to Arc Gouge.
Job Description
Must have the following in order to apply:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- One (1) year shipyard experience as a welder.
- Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and have reliable transportation.
- Understand and follow all Safety and Corporate Rules, Regulations and Policies.
- Have good organizational skills and communication skills.
- Good attendance record.
- Working knowledge in:
- ABS Rules & Regulations
- USCG Rules & Regulations
- AWS Welding Rules
- ASTM/ASME codes
Preferred Skills:
- GMAW welding process
- FCAW welding process
- SMAW welding process
- Arc Gouging
Required Screenings:
- 10 Panel Drug Testing/Screening (Pre-Employment/Random); 6GR Pipe Welding Test. Drug Free Workplace.
Work Environment:
Outdoors. Work in confined spaces, in the elements, aboard shipyard vessels, in the shop, and travel outside the facilities to other local ports in the area via company truck.

Full Time position; Monday through Friday; 7:30am to 4:00pm; 40+ hours per week.
