Duties

• Oversee all fabrication and manufacturing operations
• Coordinate and collaborate with QA/QC Inspector, Project Scheduler, Engineering Manager, Purchasing, and Project Managers
• Manage shop staffing decisions, performance reviews, and time management of all direct reports
• Monitor production output and ensure that products meet quality requirements
• Maintain multiple projects on time and within the estimated budget
• Manage shop inventory, layout, shipping/receiving, workflow, and schedule
• Generate purchasing requisitions for all shop equipment, tools, and resources, including purchasing fabrication materials from shop drawings (take-offs)
• Oversee maintenance of shop equipment
• Attend and contribute to weekly production meetings
• Oversee shop safety practices and conduct safety meetings with shop personnel

Education

• Associates Degree
• Five years heavy duty fabrication supervision
• Ability to read blueprints, complete take-offs, and calculate stack-ups
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Familiarity with fabrication shop equipment (CNC plasma table, cranes, press brake, roll, shear, ironworkers, mig/tig welders, machining)
• Working knowledge of a variety of materials including steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, and plastics (PVC, CPVC, HDPE, Polypropylene, etc.), including fabrication techniques and quality control
• Working knowledge of quality NDT/NDE techniques for metals and plastics
• Working knowledge of industrial coatings, application, and coating quality
