Job Description:

Job Family Definition:

Designs, analyzes, develops, modifies and evaluates VLSI components and hardware systems. Determines architecture and logic design, design verification through software developed for component simulation, full chip level emulation, and builds physical implementations through development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Analyzes designs to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results to enable prototype and production VLSI solutions. May direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.

Management Level Definition:

Contributions include applying developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary. Might act as project lead and provide assistance to lower-level professionals. Exercises independent judgment and consults with others to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Provides technical expertise to a project team of silicon validation engineers along with development partners responsible for all stages of network ASIC design and validation for including test design, emulation, software tool development and hardware testing.
• Team handles everything from emulation model design and development, high level test planning in coordination with other teams, testing writing, test execution, triage and debug on emulators, tool development to support testing, test execution, triage and debug on hardware systems. No single individual on the team does all these roles. People are placed within the team based on skills and interest and may change and expand in their role as their career progresses.
• Collaborates and communicates with management and internal partners regarding validation status, project progress, and issue resolution.
• Represents the team for all phases of larger and more complex ASIC validation projects.
• Participates as an independent member of project team of other VLSI engineers and software development partners to develop high quality validation solutions for network ASICs.
• Provides guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff members.

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer engineering or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in VLSI design, verification, or implementation

Knowledge and Skills:

• Working knowledge of VLSI principles, digital logic, computer architecture and/or HPC networking concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
• Experience in designing validation tests for ASICs.
• Working knowledge of Python programming and Bash scripting, hardware description language, emulators, and/or FPGA tools.
• Subject matter knowledge in major areas of responsibility. Growing breadth of understanding and a depth of specific expertise.

USD Annual Salary: $101,900.00 - $234,500.00
