Site Project Manager/Maintenance Electrician - Akima, LLC

AFO is looking for a Site Project Manager/Maintenance Electrician to work in Oak Ridge, TN.

This position serves as a Site Project Manager/Maintenance Electrician for AFO at the Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI), Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

• Supports the project Safety Plan through involvement in all aspects of safety, including training and attention to the adherence to safety requirement pertaining to particular trades or skills.
• Performs the electrical duties necessary to maintain all buildings and structures in good repair.
• Performs a variety of electrical trade functions, such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the distribution, or utilization of electrical energy.
• Installs or repairs any of a variety of electrical equipment.
• Locates and diagnoses trouble in electrical systems or equipment.
• Work involves planning and layout of work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions.
• Works standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
• Assists other crafts and trades personnel in their daily operations. Specifically, on occasion, but not limited to, assist the Alarm Technician classification.
• Performs on call duties as required
• Performs other tasks as necessary

• Valid state driver’s license
• Valid Electrical Journeyman’s Certification or comparable experience
• Three years’ work experience in O&M services supporting a military base or civilian installation
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge (less than Journeyman) in carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and painting
• On-Call 24-7 response with the ability to respond to base emergency within 1- hour

Preferred Qualification: 

• High school diploma / GED
• State electrical license preferred

Work Conditions:

• Work hours are subject to change, with overtime work as needed
• Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoors work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
