Site Supervisor PKFA/3KFA Expanded School Day Program 2024-25 - Incarnation School, Manhattan, NY
Incarnation School, located on 570 West 170th Street in Manhattan, NYC will be continuing to participate in a School Day+ initiative for the children and families enrolled in their Prek For All/ 3K for All programs. The program runs from 2:20 to 6PM every day that the School Day program is in session .
Qualifications:
- Current New York State Teaching Certification in Early Childhood or Childhood Teaching (required)
- At least 3 years of experience as a teacher with classroom experience including 3 years of experience as a lead teacher in an Early Childhood classroom (required)
- Experience working successfully in an inclusive and diverse work environment
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to be trained)
- EpiPen administration trained (or willing to be trained)
- Bilingual language skills preferred
Core Competencies:
- Successful teaching and leadership experience as an early childhood educator
- Familiarity with the NYC Department of Education PKFA/3KFA policies and procedures
- Knowledge and understanding of Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold.
- Commitment to identify and investigate enrichment opportunities to bring into the program.
- Understanding of and respect for the developmental, cultural, and linguistic diversity that is part of the richness of the NYC early childhood landscape
- Ability to lead and coach guide staff in providing students with opportunities to explore interests and creatively apply what they are learning through modeling and collaborative planning.
- Commitment to leading staff in providing rich and meaningful family engagement support and resources so as to promote the extension of learning in the home
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, verbal and written communication skills
Work Schedule: 2- 6PM every day school is in session from September to June.
Core Roles/Responsibilities:
- Ensures the implementation of Positive Behavior Guidance, as per PFKA/3K guidelines
- Guides staff in weekly program planning. Oversees implementation of plans.
- Supervises staff in providing a program that meets the varied needs of the children and families served by the program.
- Conducts daily walk-throughs, models best practices and provides formative feedback to staff
- Keeps school principal and Director of the School Day PKFA/3KFA program informed. Reports to Director.
- Uses student and program assessment data to work with staff to meet the needs of all students
- Works with the Director and School admin on timely completion of all paperwork relating to PKFA/3KFA
Other:
- Clearance in the NYC PETS system will be required.
- Completion of NYC DOH mandated trainings
