Social Support Specialist
Hadley provides both practical and social/emotional help to older adults adjusting to vision loss. Hadley is looking to add a Social Support Specialist to their dedicated team. This position is responsible for ensuring the mission, values, and culture of Hadley are communicated and upheld both externally and internally. All team members are expected to know all of Hadley's offerings and associated resources and be able to effectively communicate them to those seeking help from Hadley.
Essential Skills
- Understand the needs of our members
- Engage those seeking help from Hadley through calls, chats, and emails.
- Log and Document member interactions.
- Ensure Hadley members have the resources they need to benefit from our services.
- Have an in-depth knowledge of Hadley website and offline offerings
- Great Team Member:
- Reflect and discuss incoming calls, chats, and emails for continuous quality improvement.
- Participate in team building and training to continually enhance interaction skills.
- Support and fill in as needed when team members are out
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, Zoom, Microsoft Teams
- Excellent Listening skills: Strong active listening skills via multiple media types (phone, email, and instant chat). Ability to integrate what you've heard to make a personal connection with those reaching out for help.
- Impeccable Communication skills: Ability to clearly articulate what Hadley's help has to offer and readily reference outside resources too. Communicate within the Help Desk team to be able to serve learners efficiently and effectively.
- Effective Writing Skills: Letter Writing, Email Writing, Note Taking
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, or related field with 2+ of experience
- Master's level social work or counseling, preferred
- Creative thinker and problem solver
- Proficient planning, organizational and time management skills
Work Environment:
- Work 37.5 hours per week, hours of 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (CST)
- Hybrid work flexibility, onsite in Winnetka, IL 2-3 days per week
- On monitored phone and computer regularly
