Software Engineer, Data Processing (contractor) - Lunar Biosciences

We are seeking a talented and passionate Software Engineer, Data Processing to join our growing team. You will play a critical role in processing and analyzing single molecule nanopore signals to drive scientific insights and empower our groundbreaking technology. As part of a fast-paced and collaborative startup environment, you will work closely with researchers to build scalable solutions for real-time data analysis.

• Builds and maintains data pipelines and software algorithm to support analysis, reporting, and machine learning
• Maintain scalable data processing pipelines to handle large-scale datasets with the implementation of algorithms for data parsing and transformation.
• Optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing efficiency in cloud and on-premises environments.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement in development workflows.
• Debug and resolve complex data processing and software issues in a timely manner.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
• Experiences with the analysis of time-series data from nanopore experiments and their calling algorithm development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, R or C++.
• Experience with cloud-based data processing solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
