Software Engineer (Systems) Responsibilities:

1. Research, design, develop, build and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for large distributed components that run applications.

2. Build new features and improve existing products.

3. Work on problems of moderate scope.

4. Push code, drive the development of the systems behind our products, create web applications that reach billions of people, build high volume servers, and be a part of a team to connect people around the globe.

5. Develop a strong understanding of relevant product area, codebase, and/or systems.

6. Demonstrate proficiency in data analysis, programming and software engineering.

7. Produce high quality code with good test coverage, using modern abstractions and frameworks.

8. Receive general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects or assignments, work independently, use available resources to get unblocked, and complete tasks on-schedule by exercising strong judgment and problem solving skills.

9. Master internal development standards from developing to releasing code in order to take on tasks and projects with increasing levels of complexity.

10. Actively seek and give feedback in alignment with company Performance Philosophy.

11. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 24 months of experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation. Foreign equivalency accepted. Requires 12 months of experience involving the following:

12. 1. Coding in one of the following industry-standard languages: C, C++, Java, or C#

13. 2. Building large-scale infrastructure applications

14. 3. Designing and completing medium to large features independently without guidance

15. 4. Experience owning a particular component, feature or system

16. 5. Python, PHP, or Haskell

17. 6. Relational databases and SQL

18. 7. Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs), and revision control systems (Subversion, GIT, or Perforce)

19. 8. Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS including file manipulation and simple commands

20. 9. Core web technologies: HTML, CSS, or JavaScript

21. 10. Building highly-scalable performant solutions

22. 11. Design scalable distributed systems with established partition tolerance, consistency, and availability guarantees

23. 12. Data processing, programming languages, databases, networking, operating systems, computer graphics, or human-computer interaction.

Public Compensation:

$185,670/year to $200,200/year + bonus + equity + benefits
