Organizational Expectations:
The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland’s Treasury Services organization partners and supports the U.S. Treasury’s mission to expand the use of digital transactions across the Federal Government. The group provides strategic-level leadership, industry knowledge, and innovative thinking to assist with Treasury’s end goal of all-electronic payments and disbursements. As a part of this team, we embrace the challenge of consistently delivering exceptional work to benefit the Treasury, our organization, federal agencies, businesses, financial institutions and individuals.
As a Software QA Analyst, you will be responsible for being able to understand how the system works, develop and maintain moderately complex test cases to ensure the system works correctly, and document defects with supporting documentation. You may also analyze moderately complex problems to determine the root cause of the issue.
General Responsibilities:
Execute test cases to determine if the system meets the defined requirements.
Run automated scripts and analyze results in order to determine completion status.
Setup the system in order to prepare for testing particular scenarios.
Assist in the planning and development of test plans, cases and data. Ensure alignment with business requirements.
Utilize testing tools and integrate tools into testing efforts.
Maintain test plans, environment, data and tools for system enhancements and corrections.
Identify and prioritize issues with testing and system behavior. Participate in root cause analysis on problems encountered during testing and recommends possible solutions. Collaborate with developers and technical support staff as needed to isolate root cause of defects and provides recommendations.
Participate in team meetings and offer new ideas to improve the team.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Adheres to the Bank`s attendance policies through regular and prompt attendance.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor`s Degree with 3+ years of related work experience.
Associate’s Degree or software testing certificate with 5+ years of related work experience
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to analyze moderately complex business requirements.
Understand and able to execute automation scripts.
Ability to test compliance with requirements.
Ability to perform independent research.
Moderately specialized, technical skills.
Continuously build knowledge of the U.S. payments system, including ACH, checks, plastic cards and emerging digital payments.
Ability to write simple queries to pull information out of database.
Ability to write up detailed defects that are found in the system so others can determine the problem.
Physical Demands and General Working Conditions
Employees typically sit most of the day, work with a computer and may answer/respond to phone calls. Physical movement consists of walking for meetings, breaks, etc. Ability to lift items weighing approximately 20 pounds on a limited basis is required. Employees may be required to travel by car/air.
