Job DescriptionAs part of the Software Quality Assurance team, the Software Quality Assurance Analyst I executes manual test cases, while performing functional, smoke (confidence) and regression testing on the enterprise-critical core banking platform along with other high traffic internal applications. These manual test cases will be performed across varying configurations including front line facing internal applications. Additionally, this position is responsible for deriving test cases from product requirements, performing risk analysis to determine test case priority and focused testing efforts. This includes but is not limited to, identifying and reporting defects and bugs. The Software Quality Assurance Analyst I will work closely with other analysts to establish and improve quality assurance standards, processes and procedures to the enterprise-wide quality assurance strategy. The prominent value of this position will enable Ent Credit Union to reliably and predictably deliver quality software to meet the objectives of the business and exceed the expectations of our members. This resource will work primarily on agile teams with scrum masters, product owners, software developers and other Software Quality Assurance Analysts.
Essential Functions
- Test Execution: Is responsible for executing test cases on the enterprise-critical core banking platform. Conducts experienced based and Ad Hoc testing. Assists in the execution of performance, stress and load testing. Escalates bugs/defects when found in various environments. Responsible for Go/No Go decisioning on releases.
- Test Development: Conducts test planning and execution activities, to include applying test design to determine suitable test techniques and preparation for test execution, authoring/implementing test cases derived from product requirements and specifications, prioritizing test cases based on risk and other project criteria, and using various means to troubleshoot technical concerns and research possible solutions.
- Defect Reporting/Tracking: Identifies and reports detailed project defects. Confirms and retests bugs/defects.
- Test Case Management: Authors and maintains test cases. Maintains organization and structure of test suite library.
- Production Deployment: Reinforces and prevents any obstructive impacts deployed to the production environment, prohibiting loss in member and employee confidence for future deployments and feature updates. Conducts post deployment testing and change verification to ensure no negative impact to the production environment. Assists in review of automated test results, to include manual execution of failed CI tests. Approves and communicates the status of production releases.
- Collaboration/ Communication: Provides testing estimates. Performs analysis of project requirements. Communicate between Devs, Project Management, and Test Analysts testing project updates. Test Analysts are a key member of the QA Center of Excellence to ensure best practices and standards.
- Use various means to troubleshoot technical concerns and research possible solutions.

Minimum Formal Qualifications for level I:
- Associate's Degree Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
- 1+ years' experience with banking software support or similar software
- Technical Experience with using a variety of applications.
- 1+ years' experience of software quality assurance testing Pref
Minimum Formal Qualifications for level II:
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
- 1+ years' experience with banking software support or similar software
- Technical Experience with using a variety of applications.
- 1+ years' experience of software quality assurance testing Pref
Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in a relevant degree program or vice versa. For example, a requirement of a bachelor's degree in accounting and 2+ years of account experience could be substituted for a high school diploma and 6 years of relevant accounting work experience or a master's degree in accounting and 0 years of work experience.
Technical or Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong customer service, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to learn new and emerging concepts very quickly.
- Comfortable working in highly collaborative environments.
- Financial systems, Banking software support or similar experience.
- Must be able to maintain good productivity in developing test plans and test cases.
- Possess the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- (preferred) Identifying and documenting test cases.
- (preferred) Software Testing of Web applications.
- (preferred) Ad hoc or exploratory testing.
- (preferred) Experience with Agile software development.
- (preferred) Familiarity with test case management software.
Certifications Required:
- ASTQB/ISTQB Certified Tester or similar certification preferred

Additional Information
The pay range for leve I position is: $22 to $28 per Hour (I11)
The pay range for level II position is: $25 to $33 per Hour (I12)
Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, certifications, and internal pay equity.
This position is eligible for our corporate bonus program based on company performance.
