Job Summary: The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and procedures related to our solar energy projects. This role plays a crucial part in fostering a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Safety Program Development: Develop and maintain comprehensive safety programs and procedures tailored to the solar industry, addressing potential hazards and risks specific to solar projects.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, as well as industry-specific standards and best practices.

Safety Training: Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and project stakeholders. Ensure that employees are aware of and trained on safety protocols.

Incident Reporting: Implement and manage an incident reporting system, investigate incidents and accidents, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

Safety Audits: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of worksites and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety policies.

Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures, including evacuation and first-aid protocols.

Safety Communication: Promote a culture of safety by effectively communicating safety guidelines, best practices, and updates to all team members.

Safety Records: Maintain accurate safety records, incident reports, and documentation as required by regulatory agencies.

Safety Committees: Lead or participate in safety committees to gather input from employees and improve safety practices.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field. Relevant safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHST) are a plus.

Proven experience in safety coordination, preferably in the solar or construction industry.

OSHA 30 (commitment to work towards 500) and thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively convey safety information to diverse audiences.

Public speaking skills and ability to create and present training materials to a diverse group.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Familiarity with safety management systems and software.
