Job Summery
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sommelier/Restaurant Manager to oversee and optimize all aspects of our Wine and Beverage program and run day to day operations of The Restaurant in addition to our other managers. As the Sommelier you will need in-depth knowledge of wines, as well as the ability to quickly recall and share complex information about different types of wines, wine pairings and tasting notes. Your primary objective will be to maximize sales and revenue by consistently meeting and exceeding customer expectations, fostering employee engagement, and maintaining a strong focus on quality and efficiency. By implementing innovative strategies and maintaining high standards, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our F&B department and enhancing overall guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Ordering wines and maintaining wine stock
Creating a wine list and writing wine descriptions
Suggesting food and wine pairings to servers and customers
Recommending wines based on customer preferences
Training waitstaff on wines
Conducting wine tastings for staff and customers
Preserve excellent levels of internal and external customer service
Design exceptional beverage menus, purchase goods and continuously make necessary improvements
Identify customers needs and respond proactively to all of their concerns
Comply with all health and safety regulations
Requirements and skillsA strong background in wine and expertise in wine menu development
Proficiency in cocktail development and bar management
Expertise in sourcing high-quality beverages, managing supplier relationships, and negotiating prices
Ability to train and mentor staff in beverage knowledge, service techniques, and compliance
Commitment to staying updated on industry trends and enhancing personal beverage knowledge
Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
Mastery in delegating multiple tasks
Communication and leadership skills
Up to date with food and beverages trends and best practices
Ability to manage personnel and meet financial targets
Guest-oriented and service-minded
Culinary school diploma or degree in food service management or related field such as Certificate from Court of Masters Sommeliers
