What You’ll Do
- Contribute to the design, development, and testing of propulsion subsystems for robotic platforms, including electric and chemical propulsion systems.
- Assist with integrating propulsion systems into robotic platforms, ensuring compatibility with mission objectives and operational requirements.
- Perform propulsion subsystem sizing, power budget management, and performance analysis to meet mission requirements.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate propulsion systems during ground testing and operational deployment.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to manage the delivery and integration of propulsion components, ensuring compliance with mission requirements.
- Support robotic platform operations, including commissioning, calibration, and real-time mission operations.
- Work with regulatory agencies to secure necessary approvals for handling and transporting propulsion systems for robotic platforms.
- Strong engineering background in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Robotics Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with electric, chemical, and hybrid propulsion systems, as well as propulsion design and analysis for robotics.
- Familiarity with robotics systems and mission design.
- Hands-on experience with propulsion system testing, both in lab and operational environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex technical challenges.
- U.S. Citizenship and eligibility to obtain a U.S. DoD security clearance (Secret or higher).
- Experience with propulsion testing in laboratory environments, including vacuum or field-testing environments.
- Familiarity with robotics simulation tools and testbeds, such as Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems and digital twins.
- Understanding of mission operations for autonomous or remotely operated systems.
- Experience working with regulatory agencies (DOT, FAA) for transporting robotic propulsion systems.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or similar programming languages used for propulsion analysis and simulation.
