We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented self-starter with a passion for supporting the Space Situational Awareness (SSA) mission as a SSA Subject Matter Expert
In this role, you will support a high visibility project for the Office of Space Commerce that will become the global standard for civil and commercial space traffic coordination
You will provide subject matter expertise to the customer and engineering team in support of the development of data standards, data flows, and supporting analytics
You will also contribute to the development of the overall test strategy for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data products, conduct research on critical aspects of the overall design of the system, and utilize your considerable knowledge and experience in orbital analysis and astrodynamics to assist in delivering this critical capability.Due to the level of engagement and collaboration with leadership and the team, this position requires working in the office a minimum of four days per week
This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $20,000.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide subject matter expertise to project stakeholders in support of the refinement of data and message standards, design of the TraCSS system, data flows and data formatsAssist with the development of the overall test strategy for the verification and validation of SSA related system dataResearch and present findings related to various technical issues and challengesProvide oversight and supervision of other space SMEs and systems engineersPrepare and present materials to internal and external stakeholdersSupport business growth initiatives via contract proposals, attendance at customer meetings and conferences, and one-on-one engagements as neededRequired SkillsBachelor’s degree with at least 15 years of industry related experience as an astrodynamics engineer, space systems engineer or orbital analystStrong background in astrodynamics with deep understanding of data formats for messages related to orbit determination and conjunction assessment including CDMs, CSMs, OCMs and ODMsKnowledge of the foundational concepts of orbit determination, orbit propagation, conjunction assessment and DoD CONOPS supporting the SSA missionExperience with verification and validation testing related to the OD and/or CA mission areasMust be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyMust be creative, flexible and willing to work with constantly changing prioritiesAbility to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervisionDemonstrated leadership experience with a servant leadership mindsetAbility and willingness to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentPossess a strong work ethic that is focused on delivering exceptional results, sometimes on tight deadlinesPossesses personal integrity and a positive attitudePossesses strong analytical skills and attention to detailMust have strong communication skills including an ability to effectively present complex concepts in a clear and understandable way with teammates and customersMust be a US Citizen due to support of US government contractsMinimum Clearance Required to Start:Not Applicable/NoneThis position is part of our Federal Solutions team.Our Federal Solutions segment delivers resources to our US government customers that ensure the success of missions around the globe
