Special Ed / Gen Ed Social Worker - MSAD 17 Oxford Hills School District

The Oxford Hills School District is seeking excellent candidates for the position of a split Special Ed/Gen Ed Social Worker for The Guy E. Rowe Elementary school in Norway. 

Guy E. Rowe is a community school located in the heart of Norway.  We seek educators who work collaboratively on shared goals.

Candidates must hold a valid Maine LCSW, LMSW-cc, LCPC, or LCPC-c license.

• Must be able to build positive relationships with students and staff and work well as part of a team.
• A deep understanding of child development and social emotional learning is required.
• Experience with children with mental health and behavioral concerns is preferred.

Reports to: Building Administrator and Director of Special Education

Work Schedule: 180 Day Contract

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• The clinician will provide direct services to the general education population and students requiring such services per their IEP.
• The clinician will provide consultation to classroom and special education teachers to address the students’ identified social, emotional and behavioral needs.
• This position requires the clinician to be an active member of a special education team, engage in home/school communication and maintain accurate data and records that are relevant to planning, implementation, and evaluation of school social work services.

• The clinician will demonstrate the core values of service, social justice, importance of human relationships, dignity and worth of the student, integrity and competence.
• The clinician will adhere to the professional ethics and responsibilities in their code of ethics.
• The clinician will have knowledge of and comply with all local, state and federal mandates related to informed consent, privacy and confidentiality.

The Oxford Hills School District (MSAD 17) comprises the towns ofNorway,South Paris,West Paris,Oxford,Waterford,Harrison,HebronandOtisfield.MSAD 17 shares vocational resources and accepts students in its Oxford Hills Technical School programs from the RSU10 School District towns of Buckfield, Hartford and Sumner. Oxford Hills/Nezinscot Adult Education is located within the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

The Oxford Hills offer a variety of outdoor resources for anyone wishing to enjoy the region, whatever the season. The area boasts more than ten lakes and ponds for outdoor recreation, a land trust with hundreds of acres for skiing, snowshoeing, and is in close proximity to several downhill skiing areas!
