About the Job
- Plans, develops, writes, revises, documents, tests, implements and controls programs for computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines and related fixturing.
- Prepares machine/process setup and operating instructions.
- Designs and/or manufactures jigs and fixtures from sketches, requirement descriptions or drawings.
- Provides support, training and problem resolution to operations personnel who use computer numerically controlled machines.
- Liaises with engineering regarding component repairs, inspection and induction of new repairs.
- Monitors performance, conducts feasibility studies and implements process improvements for computer numerically controlled machines.
- Prepares technical specifications and cost benefit analysis for procurement of capital equipment. Liaises with management in the procurement process.
- Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
- Carries out special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
The person requires an ability to understand, utilize, and communicate specialized information in speech and written text. This specialized training is often formalized and recognized by a specific certificate, diploma, or license.
- Thorough understanding of repair design and development engineering manufacturing process, tool design, and fabrication methods and processes.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and oral and written communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems. Master-CAM a plus.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints.
- Familiarity with Fanuc and Haas controls and the ability to program at the machine, as needed.
- Prior experience as a machinist or toolmaker is preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 to 5 years relevant experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office is a plus.
- College diploma in manufacturing technology or a related discipline; or equivalent is a plus.
- Must be a US Citizen or a US Permanent Resident per ITAR regulations.
