ABOUT THE JOB
The Sports Outreach Coordinator supports the Sport Outreach Pastor in organizing and executing sports-related events and activities as part of First Naples Church's outreach programs. This individual will help build relationships within the community, manage event logistics, and ensure smooth operations. Flexibility, strong communication skills, and physical capability are key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Sport Outreach Pastor to coordinate and manage sports events and outreach activities for the church.
- Communicate with volunteers, participants, and community members to promote events and programs.
- Perform administrative tasks, including scheduling events, managing registrations, and using computer software to track attendance and resources.
- Work outdoors, assisting in the setup and breakdown of equipment for events, regardless of weather conditions.
- Ensure proper maintenance, transportation, and organization of sports equipment (ability to lift upwards of 50 lbs required).
- Manage phone inquiries and provide information about sports outreach programs.
- Stand or walk for long periods while assisting with event supervision.
- Develop relationships with participants and engage with community members to encourage involvement.
- Assist the Sport Outreach Pastor in post-event evaluation and feedback collection.
Requirements:
- Flexible availability, with some Saturdays required.
- Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs of equipment.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions and standing for extended periods.
- Experience using a computer for basic administrative tasks.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and phone etiquette.
- Prior experience or knowledge of sports is a plus.
