We are looking for an experienced accountant with construction accounting experience. Familiar with construction payment application process. Understanding of project management accounting. Comfortable with A/R collections, Journal entries, account recs and job reconciliation.

Job Description
Purpose of the Job:
This role will perform full cycle construction accounting including but not limited to account reconciliations, investigate, and correct discrepancies.

Essential Functions:
Perform monthly close and related journal entries
Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
Prepare monthly bank and credit card account reconciliations
Maintain the company chart of accounts
Prepare weekly and monthly management and financial reports
Perform weekly review of job cost activity ensuring consistent and proper coding
Prepare and distribute 1099s
Interface with management in various departments including sales, construction, and purchasing.
Other Tasks and Responsibilities:
Analyze customer contracts and purchase orders and be cognizant of terms and conditions, schedule and other crucial contractual or logistical elements.
Create projects in accounting software and set up billing milestones
Work with project manager to create project schedules
Enter cost estimates in accounting software
Maintain relationships with key partners including banks, title companies, outside accounting firms, etc.
Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies.
Investigate and resolve data errors consistent with standard accounting practice
Communicate processes, procedures and data with internal customers and department management
Monitor and analyze project financials
Investigate project variances and submit reports to project management
Report on project profitability to management weekly project review
Track job costing information for management decision making
Create monthly reports for management and key departments
Participate in month end, quarter end and year end close
Collect project billings from customers
Provide administrative support to project management
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business from an accredited college or equivalent experience
Knowledge,
Skills and Experience:
Minimum 3 years' experience in construction related accounting
Knowledge of construction billing including AIA documents
