Summary
Obtains the necessary data approvals by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) appointed persons or equivalent agency to ensure compliance with all appropriate regulatory requirements for Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) allowing Greenpoint to produce goods and services for the aircraft industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates the activities of direct and consultant aircraft certification personnel for the review and approval of engineering drawings and documents to the requirements of the FAA or other airworthiness organizations.
- Develops certification plans, certification basis, compliance, and conformity plans.
- Generates engineering technical documents to support primary responsibility.
- Coordinates conformity inspections by scheduling inspections with FAA designees and reviewing data packages before and after inspection.
- Assists in performance of laboratory and aircraft testing in support of primary responsibility.
- Provides assistance to senior Certification leadership in support of budget levels for new and ongoing programs.
- May perform as functional "Lead" for Certification team on specific project(s).
- Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Familiar with FAA airworthiness regulations.
- Experience running STC projects, preferably through Seattle ACO.
- Experience generating Certification Plans, managing part and installation conformities, managing DER data reviews required.
- Experience generating technical documents including test reports, flight manual supplements and other certification deliverables.
- Demonstrated experience with MS Outlook, MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) and Internet software.
- Computer Aided Drafting/Design (CAD) skills preferred.
- Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally as part of an established and growing team.
- Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and reports.
- Ability to write technical reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization and organize and facilitate meetings to discuss technical issues.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time, use hands to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and have close/color vision ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Ability to work outside of core business hours as required.
Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to meet high expectations for meeting strict schedule, budget, and technical solutions.
- Ability to adapt and lead tailored processes designed for unique and novel certification processes.
- Demonstrate technical expertise under strict deadlines with minimal margin of error.
- Position requires email/phone interactions with DERs, DARs and other Regulatory personnel, experience in this area is required.
- Extensively broad and diverse knowledge for STC certification, including interior compliance, flammability, electrical systems, mechanical systems, structures, etc.
Summary of Education, Experience & Certification
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in engineering; minimum four years related STC or TC certification experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Aerospace background and aircraft interior industry experience a plus.
Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.
The expected WA salary range for this position is between $120,384-$165,528 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
